Henderson State used a 29 point second quarter to blow by Northwestern Oklahoma in Great American Conference play on Saturday, winning 76-65 and securing a #5 seed in the GAC Tournament next weekend.
The Reddies(14-14, 13-9 GAC) trailed 15-11 at the end of the first quarter before exploding for a 29 point effort in the second, and took a 40-27 lead into the break.
NWOSU(2-26, 0-22 GAC) could never regain the lead in the second half, as HSU's largest lead was 18 points, and the Reddies finished the game knocking down 22-of-58 attempts for 38 percent.
Northwestern Oklahoma was 25-of-60 from the field for 42 percent, but were out-rebounded by the Reddies 42-34 and committed 12 turnovers to just nine for HSU.
HSU also dished out 12 team assists, and connected on 23-of-29 attempts from the charity stripe while NWOSU attempted only 10 free throws and knocked down eight.

Dulincia Keener, as she put together her 13
th double-double of the season with 27 points including 11-of-13 makes at the foul line, while also pulling down 12 boards.
Haleigh Henson also had a big game, as the sophomore scored 22 points and knocked down a career-high seven three-pointers on 15 attempts from beyond-the-arc.
Also having a double-figure night was senior
Victoria Stewart, as she contributed 10 points, while
Lexis Weber stuffed the stat sheet with seven points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.
Both Keener and Stewart were recognized for their efforts concluding the game as it was Senior Day for the two players at the Duke Wells Center.
Keener eclipsed 500 points on the season in the win, and now has 514 points in the 2015-16 campaign, while Stewart led HSU in assists this season and also was second in scoring averaging 13.1 points per game.
For Northwestern, the Lady Rangers were led by Kamera Bozeman with 23 points, while Deja Beechum contributed 11 for the only double-figure scorers on the NWOSU side.
Henderson State finishes the regular season on a three-game winning streak, and will take on 4
th seeded Southern Arkansas on Friday night at 8 p.m. in the GAC Tournament hosted in Bartlesville, Okla.
