Henderson State finished the weekend with a 3-2 win over Pittsburg State winning 25-18, 25-20, 22-25, 23-25, an 15-12, Saturday at the Bettye Wallace Volleyball Classic in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The Reddies, 5-4 on the season, finished the weekend tournament going 2-2.
After winning the first two sets against the Gorillas, the Reddies lost the next two sets and trailed 11-9 in the fifth set before kills by
Sharon Tukuaoga and
Adrianna Hartmann to even up the match.
Henderson went on to outscore Pittsburg State 4 to 1 down the stretch to record its fifth win of the season, the most since 2012.
Courtney Bolf totaled 24 kills in the match to pace Henderson with Tukuaoga having 22 winners.
Sariah Boney collected 64 set assists in the match.
Henderson lost earlier in the day as Drury beat the Reddies in straight sets 25-23, 25-15, 25-22.
Bolf totaled 14 kills in the match while
Kamra Jackson had 8 spikes.
Henderson will open Great American Conference play on Tuesday when the Reddies play host to Harding with first serve set for 6 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
