Reddies face OBU Thursday at home in Battle of the Ravine

Coming off the heels of a win over first-place Arkansas Tech, the Henderson State volleyball team returns to action on Thursday for the Battle of the Ravine against crosstown rival Ouachita Baptist at 6 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.

Series:
Henderson leads the all-time series 27-17, but Ouachita has won the last 10 contests between the two schools. The Reddies' last win over the Tigers came in 2010 as a member of the Gulf South Conference.
 
Henderson State (7-9) Notes:
 
The Reddies are riding a wave of momentum after their 3-1 win over perennial GAC power Arkansas Tech on Tuesday night. The victory was Henderson's first over Tech since 2007. The Reddies are currently 2-2 in GAC play and have already matched their conference win total from the last three seasons combined.
 
Henderson has proven to have playmakers all over the court thus far in 2016. Sophomore Sharon Tukuaoga and freshman Courtney Bolf continue to pace the Reddies' offensively, with 221 kills on the year for Tukuaoga and 216 for Bolf. Setting them up have been two talented freshman setters, in Sariah Boney (481 assists) and Haley Higgins (160 assists). Higgins paced the Henderson attack on Tuesday against Tech, piling up a career-high 39 assists in the win.
 
Defensively, the Reddies were stout on Tuesday night. At the net Henderson will look to freshman Adrianna Hartmann (54 blocks), Tukuaoga (44 blocks) and sophomore Gabby Ginapp (43 blocks), while the backline is held down by junior libero Sydney Skelton, who has 285 digs on the year.
 
As a team, the Reddies are fourth in the GAC with 1.89 blocks per set.
 
Ouachita Baptist (11-3) Notes:
 
The Tigers enter Thursday night's contest fresh off of a 3-2 win over Harding on Tuesday night. They are 3-1 in conference play on the year and 1-2 on the road.
 
Ouachita is led by freshman Adrianna Nolly, who is fifth in the conference in hitting percentage at .275 and has 143 kills on the year to go along with 42 blocks, good for fifth in the GAC. Tigers' sophomore setter Stormi Leonard leads the conference with 10.61 assists per set, and senior libero Ashley Wake is third in the GAC in digs per set, averaged 4.88 a game with 249 total on the season.
 
As a team, Ouachita leads the GAC with a .237 attack percentage, are second in the conference with 2.08 blocks per set. In addition, they are third in the league in opponent hitting percentage at .175 and fourth in kills per set with 12.53.
