Henderson State had a great opening weekend as the Reddies volleyball team went 2-2 at the Tampa Courtyard Marriott Invitational in Florida.
After stunning host and No. 7 ranked Tampa on Friday, the Reddies finished the tournament with a three set win over Franklin Pierce 25-17, 30-28, 25-13 on Saturday.
In the final match,
Sharon Tukuaoga, who earned a spot on the All-Tornament Team, dominated having a .500 attack percentage while totaling 16 kills.
Courtney Bolf followed with 10 kills, while
Gabby Ginapp had six winners while posting a .455 attack percentage.
 After a tight second set, The Reddies blew out Franklin Pierce winning 25-13 with the help of a .500 attack percentage using 12 kills while having just two errors.
The Reddies finished with a team attack percentage of .290 forcing the Ravens to commit 19 attack errors for just .076 hitting.
The Reddies dropped an earlier match to Minnesota State 3-1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 25-13).
Tukuaogo led Henderson with 15 attack winners. The sophomore from San Francisco, Calif. recorded double-figures in kills all four matches.
Bolf, a freshman from Fort Worth, Texas also recorded double-figure kills for the fourth straight match having 11 spikes.
Sariah Boney, a freshman from Sugarland, Texas, totaled 39 set assists, while
Sydney Skelton had 19 defensive digs.
Tukuaogo finished the four match weekend with a team-best 56 kills, while Bolf added 48 and
Kamra Jackson had 38.
Skelton totaled 84 defensive digs and Boney 152 set assists.
Henderson returns to action on Tuesday when the Reddies travel to Conway, Ark. to face Central Baptist with first serve set for 6 p.m.
The Reddies will then host the Inaugural Bettye Wallace Invitational beginning on Friday. Henderson will open the tournament again Missouri Southern at 11:30 a.m. followed by a match against Northern State at 7 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
