Reddies vs. Tigers: Battle of the Ravine Part 1

Henderson State will play its third game in five days as the Reddies travel across Highway 7 for part one of the Battle of Ravine against Ouachita Baptist with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m.
           
Henderson has an 11-3 record overall and a 6-2 mark in league play after suffering their first home loss of the season to No. 22 Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday.    

The Reddies suffered a season low 34 percent shooting from the field against UAM while committing 16 turnovers.

Henderson still averages 84.7 points per game while limiting opponents to 71 points. The Reddies continue to lead the league in 3-point defense with opponents shooting just 28 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Kaylon Tappin led the Reddies with 18 points against the Weevils. The junior from Little Rock has averaged 25.7 points per game in the last three contests while making 37-of-40 free throws. Tappin leads Henderson averaging 18.1 points for the season.           

Chris Hawkins scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds on Saturday and is second on the team in scoring averaging 12.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest.
           
Ouachita Baptist is 7-5 on the season and 5-3 in GAC play following Saturday's 77-75 win over Harding.           

Ouachita is one of the top free-throw shooting teams in the conference at 73.2 percent. The Tigers average 73.6 points per game while surrendering 73.5 points per contest. 

Lakee Westbrook leads OBU in scoring averaging 16.2 points per game, which ranks seventh in the GAC. The senior from Shannon, Miss. has scored in double-figures in 10 of 12 games this year.        

Justin McCleary averages 13.0 points and leads the team in steals with 25. McCleary was one of five players to score double-figures against Harding having 18 points.  

Carven Holcombe is scoring 13.3 points per contest. Holcombe scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds against the Bisons on Saturday.       
           
Ouachita leads the all-time series with a 105-97 advantage in a series which began in 1912. OBU has won the last three meetings and five of the last six. The Reddies are 3-7 against OBU since joining the GAC.
Thursday's double-header will be carried on 106.9 FM KYXK Arkadelphia/Gurdon with Robbie Aaron providing the play-by-play. Former Reddie player and coach Grady Bean will provide the color commentary.
 
The Domino's pregame show will air 5:15 p.m. with the women's game set for 5:30 p.m.
