Reddies Begin Second Rotation of GAC Schedule Against Oklahoma Baptist

Henderson State begins the second rotation of the Great American Conference schedule as the Reddies travel to Shawnee, Okla. to face Oklahoma Baptist Thursday at 7:30 p.m.          

The Reddies beat the Bison back in November 80-71 and will attempt to win their first game in Shawnee in five attempts.
           
Henderson has lost its last four games and are 11-6 on the season and 6-5 in league play.
 
Prior to the four game skid, the Reddies were averaging 86.6 points per game while shooting 51 percent from the field. Henderson will look to get back to those numbers as the Reddies has averaged just 60.2 points while shooting 37 percent from the field during the losing streak.
 
Kaylon Tappin has been limited to just 16 total points in the last three games, but still leads the Reddies averaging 15.8 points per game.
 
Chris Hawkins scored 12 points and pulled down 8 rebounds in Henderson's last game against Harding. Hawkins is averaging 12.4 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds per contest.   

Ben Marello led the Reddies with 15 points against Harding and is currently averaging 9.3 points per game. The freshman from Port Orange, Fla. recorded a double-double last game against Oklahoma Baptist having 17 points and 10 rebounds.  

Oklahoma Baptist enters the game with a 4-11 record overall and 1-10 in GAC play.

OBU averages 72 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the field.         
 
Five players are averaging in double-figures for the Bison including Chandler Ricky who leads the team averaging 14.6 points per game while shooting 63 percent from the field.

Steven Green is a versatile player averaging 13.6 points while grabbing a team-best 8.0 rebounds per contest. The senior from Phoenix, Ariz. is OBU's 3-point threat having made a team best 31 trifectas while shooting 37 percent from the arc.

Kevin Franceschi is scoring 13.1 points while Vladimir Nemcok totals 11.1 points per outing. Franceschi had a season-best 23 points against the Reddies in November hitting 10-of-20 attempts from the field.

Oklahoma Baptist leads the all-time series having a 5-4 advantage over Henderson.
Thursday's double-header will be carried on 106.9 FM KYXK Arkadelphia/Gurdon with Hunter Lively and David Salley calling the action.
 
The Domino's pregame show will air 5:15 p.m. with the women's game set for 5:30 p.m.
