Henderson State could not overcome 27 percent shooting in the first half as the Reddies lost to Southern Nazarene 81-57, Saturday in Bethany, Okla.
The Reddies, 12-7 overall and 7-6 in the Great American Conference, made just 7-of-26 field goal attempts in the first half as the Crimson Storm built a 41-16 halftime advantage.
While Henderson struggled, Southern Nazarene hit on 19-of-34 shots for 56 percent shooting in the half.
The Reddies had a better second half outscoring the Crimson Storm 41-40, but Henderson could not slow down SNU as the Storm maintained their solid shooting.
After scoring 18 points on Thursday against Oklahoma Baptist, Ben Morello had a repeat performance Saturday with 18 points to lead the Reddies.
Kyle Murphy came off the bench and had a season-best 8 points which included a pair of 3-point field goals, while
Saijon Blackwell totaled 7 points going 3-for-3 in 3 minutes of work.
Chris Hawkins led Henderson in rebounding with 6 caroms to go along with 6 points.
Henderson finished the game making 21-of-57 shot from the field for 37 percent shooting, while Southern Nazarene converted on 32-of-58 attempts for 55 percent.
Henderson returns home on Thursday to take on Southeastern Oklahoma with the opening tip set for 7:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
