Reddies Look to Regroup Against Southwestern Oklahoma

GAME NOTES

Henderson State will be attempting to pick up its first win in league play as the Reddies travel to Weatherford, Okla. on Saturday to face Southwestern Oklahoma with tip-off for the Great American Conference contest set for 3 p.m.
             
Henderson opened GAC play with a 77-63 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday. The Reddies hit just 38 percent of its shots from the field.

Josh Jones led Henderson with 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor, while freshman Raekwon Rogers had a career-high 13 points in just his third college contest and hit on 9-of-10 shots at the free throw line.

In the last two games, Henderson is shooting 38.8 percent from the field and has converted on just 5-of-33 long-range jumpers.

Jones leads the Reddies averaging 16.7 points per game including going 8-for-11 from beyond the 3-point arc. The junior from Memphis has scored in double-figures in all three games.

Brad Nairn follows averaging 11.3 points per contest while shooting 50 percent from the field.

Kaylon Tappin averages 11.0 points and has made 11-of-13 shots from the foul line. In the two games last year against SWOSU, Tappin totaled 33 points including 20 in the contest in Weatherford.
  
SWOSU enters Saturday's contest with a 1-2 record overall and 0-1 in the GAC after losing 63-61 on Thursday to Ouachita Baptist.                  

The Bulldogs average 68.0 points per contest and are shooting 40 percent from the field.             

Jerry Hurt leads the Bulldogs averaging 16.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. The junior from Memphis, Tenn. has scored in double-figures in all three games this season including a high of 22 points against Ouachita.   

Charles Beauregard follows with 12.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest. A junior from Dallas, Texas, Beauregard totaled 9 points on Thursday against OBU.         

Junior forward Justin King averages 9.3 points and 4.7 boards after being held scoreless against the Tigers. The product of Gary, Ind. scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds against Southwest Baptist.
