ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State begins the last week of the 2018 regular season with its second matchup versus Arkansas-Monticello.
Henderson (24-5, 11-3) opened conference play against UAM when the Reddies swept the Weevils 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-16) in early September. The Reddies are looking for their fourth-straight win over UAM, having swept the Weevils during the 2017 season. Henderson State is currently third in the Great American Conference standings and has clinched a spot in the GAC Tournament next weekend in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Scouting UAM
UAM has struggled mightily so far this season and at one point had a 2-22 record. However, the Weevils have had more positives in recent weeks and are winners of four of their last six matches. The program was looking for a turnaround after posting a 2-14 GAC record last season, but that has not been the case, as UAM is currently 3-11 in conference play. Two freshmen have stepped up to lead the Weevils in important statistical categories. Freshman Halli Lambert paces UAM with 179 kills, while Katelyn Richbourg has been the defensive leader with 328 digs.
