Henderson Women Tip Off Home Opener Tuesday Against Wiley College

LIVE VIDEO | LIVE STATS

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The Henderson State women, after a string of road contests to start the year, will play in the Duke Wells Center for the first time this season on Tuesday evening when they face Wiley College at 6 p.m. in their home opener.

REDDIES REPORT
- The Reddies picked up their first win over Arkansas Tech in Russellville since the 2005-06 season this past Saturday, 70-62. HSU had a lead of as many as 18 points before staving off a late Golden Suns rally to move to 2-0 in Great American Conference play.

- HSU's 5-1 start is its best since 2011-12 when the Reddies opened the year 7-1 before ultimately finishing 14-13 in the GAC's inaugural season.

- Hailey Estes currently leads the team in both scoring (16.8 points per game) and rebounding (7.3 rebounds per game). She has scored in double figures five times already this season, which includes three games of 20 or more points. Pink Jones is averaging 16.3 points per game and has also scored in double figures five times this year. Freshman Maci Mains had a strong showing in the first two GAC games of her career. Mains had nine assists in the win over Southern Arkansas on Thursday and then scored 13 points, all of which came in the first half, against Arkansas Tech.

- Henderson is second in the GAC as a team in field goal percentage. The Reddies are shooting 46.1 percent from the floor so far this season.

- Tuesday is the fifth meeting all-time between HSU and Wiley College. Henderson has won the previous four, including the most recent matchup in 2005-06.

SCOUTING WILEY COLLEGE
- Wiley College, of the Red River Athletic Conference in NAIA, is 2-4 on the season entering Tuesday's matchup. The Wildcats are led by head coach Bianca McGee, who is in her second season at the helm of the program.

- The Wildcats have already played three NCAA DI teams this season: Southern University, Sam Houston State, and Stephen F. Austin.

- Armonie Lomax leads Wiley in scoring this season (14.7 points per game). She scored a season-high 24 against Sam Houston State.

- WC's posted record for 2017-18 is 3-23, but the Wildcats actually finished the season 13-13 and 10-8 in RRAC play and were later forced to forfeit 10 games due to NAIA sanctions.
