Volleyball Gears for SAU Thursday, Final Stretch

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State is rounding into form as the 2019 regular season winds to a close. The Reddies have won nine of their last 11 matches dating back to Oct. 6, including back-to-back road wins at Ouachita Baptist and Arkansas Tech.

Henderson (17-11, 8-5) has surged up the GAC standings in the last month of action and can clinch a spot in the 2019 conference tournament with a victory on Thursday and a loss by either Ouachita Baptist or Arkansas-Monticello. Three more wins for HSU would also secure back-to-back 20 win seasons for the first time since the 2000-2001 seasons.

Following a five-match road swing, the Reddies will return to the friendly confines of the Duke Wells Center against Southern Arkansas on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The last home game for HSU came all the way back on Oct.18 when the Reddies took care of East Central 3-0. Three of Henderson's final four regular season matches of the 2019 regular season will be played at the Duke Wells Center.

Southern Arkansas | (3-21, 1-12) | T-Last in GAC
It has been a rebuilding year for first year head coach Lindsey Partridge who got her first GAC victory on Oct. 26 when the Muleriders defeated the East Central Tigers 3-1 (21-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-16). Southern Arkansas is now 7-54 in Great American Conference play dating back to the 2016 season. One of the bright spots for the Muleriders' future has been the play of freshman setter Morgan Schuster, who has tallied 758 assists and is currently third in GAC matches with 9.93 assists per set.
