GAME NOTES
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Reddies play their final regular season game of the year Saturday when they host East Central at 3 p.m. on Senior Day.
REDDIES REPORT
- With one regular season game remaining, Henderson State is 17-10 overall and 12-9 in Great American Conference play. The Reddies are currently alone in sixth place in the GAC standings and would play the No. 3 seed in the first round of the conference tournament in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.Â
- Saturday is Senior Day and the Reddies will honor their three seniors --
Eric Dailey,
Joshua Jones, and
Terrence Parker -- before tip-off in the final games of their careers at the Duke Wells Center. HSU will look to send them off in style and holds a 10-3 record at home this season.
-
Rel Johnson,
Chris Parker, and
Joshua Jones all average double-figure points for the Reddies. Jones has been on a tear as of late and has scored 11 or more in six of HSU's last eight games. Twelve different players on the roster have scored in double figures at some point this season for Henderson.
- East Central has been a thorn in Henderson's side over the last several years. The Reddies have dropped their last 10 games against the Tigers and have not picked up a win over ECU since Jan. 30, 2014. The Tigers got the better of HSU in the first meeting this season in Ada, Oklahoma, 82-63.
- Henderson has the second-best field goal percentage defense in the GAC and is holding conference opponents to just 41.9 percent shooting from the floor this season.
SCOUTING EAST CENTRAL
- East Central enters Saturday's contest 16-10 on the year and 13-8 in GAC play. The Tigers had won two straight coming into the weekend but fell at Ouachita Baptist on Thursday night 86-72. They are one game ahead of HSU in the GAC standings.
- The Tigers are led offensively by one of the best scorers in the league in junior guard Camron Talley, who averages 20.3 points per game this season. Talley has scored in double figures in all but one game this year for ECU and has finished with 20 or more 14 times. He has hit 89 threes in 2018-19 and is shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc.
- ECU is the best shooting team in the GAC and leads the league in team field goal percentage in conference games (48.7 percent). The Tigers are third in the GAC in turnover margin (+1.19) and fourth in assist to turnover ratio (1.2). East Central, however, is last in the conference in offensive rebounding and average just 7.7 offensive boards per game in league action this season.
