Reddies Host Arkansas Tech Thursday in GAC Clash

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- The Reddies are looking to bounce back after falling for the first time in conference play Tuesday night against Harding. HSU's slate does not get any easier as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns, who are winners of eight-straight arrive for a 6:30 p.m. bout at the Duke Wells Center.

Henderson (7-7, 1-1) was held to just 24 team kills as Harding's defense kept the Reddies off-balance. HSU was led by Courtney Bolf, who finished with 10 kills and 12 digs, as well as Abby Blackburn, who picked up her third double-double in four games with 15 assists and 10 digs.

Arkansas Tech | (9-5, 2-0) | T-1st in GAC
Following a sluggish start to the season which saw ATU drop five of its first six matches, the Golden Suns have responded with an eight-game winning streak, and are arguably playing their best volleyball since a 35-1 season in 2017. Arkansas Tech has lost just five sets while on its eight-game tear, and dominated both Harding and Southern Arkansas on the way to 3-0 sweeps in the first two GAC contests of the season. Senior Allie Anderson, who was named 2018 GAC Honorable-Mention, has led the ATU attack with 140 kills on the year. Much like the Reddies, Arkansas Tech has the ability to attack defenses from multiple angles, sporting six players with more than 50 kills. The Golden Suns are led by head coach Kera Dukic who earned All-Conference and All-Region honors playing for Arkansas Tech.
