Men's Basketball Set for Season Finale with ECU

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State plays its final regular season game of 2019-20 on Saturday when it travels to Ada, Oklahoma to face East Central at 3 p.m.

REDDIES REPORT
- The Reddies (19-8, 14-7) suffered another heart-breaking loss on Thursday night to Southeastern Oklahoma in a season full of them. HSU has dropped seven conference games this year and six of them have been decided by four points or fewer.

- Henderson will be either the No. 2, No. 3 or No. 4 seed next week at the GAC Tournament in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, depending on how the final day of games in the conference plays out on Saturday. The Reddies were the No. 5 seed last season and reached the semifinals before falling to eventual champion Southern Nazarene.

- One more victory will give Henderson its first 20-win season since 2006-07 and its first 15-win conference campaign of the NCAA era, which dates back to 1993. It would be the 24th season in program history to hit the 20-win mark and the 10th since joining NCAA DII.

- Raekwon Rogers has been the catalyst for the Reddies down the final stretch of the season. The junior from Little Rock has scored in double figures 12 times in Henderson's last 13 games and is shooting 70% from the floor in that time frame. Rogers is shooting 61.9% from the field for the year which leads all players in the conference. He is the only player in the league shooting over 60%.

- As a team, Henderson is tied for sixth in all of NCAA DII in field goal percentage defense (40.1% shooting for opponents). The Reddies held Southeastern Oklahoma State, who was shooting over 49% in GAC games, to 36.9% shooting — its second-lowest mark of the season.

- HSU defeated East Central 73-70 in the first meeting between the teams back on Jan. 23 in Arkadelphia. The Reddies have won two-straight over ECU but prior to those two wins the Tigers had won 10-consecutive games with Henderson. HSU is 8-10 against East Central since the formation of the GAC.

SCOUTING EAST CENTRAL
- ECU comes into the season finale 17-10 overall and 11-10 in GAC play. The Tigers are 11-2 at home this year and snapped a five-game losing streak on Thursday night with a win over Ouachita Baptist, 90-76.

- The Tigers are led by one of the top scorers in the conference, senior guard Camron Talley, who averages 21.3 points per game — good for second in the GAC. Fellow guard Tylor Arnold averages 11.9 points per contest and is shooting 49.5% from the floor this season.

- East Central is the top scoring team in the GAC and leads the league in scoring offense (83.8 points per game). ECU is third in team field goal percentage (46.8%) and fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (35.9%). The Tigers have struggled with turnovers and are 11th in the conference in turnover margin (-1.33).
