ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – In the midst of a three-match winning streak, Henderson State can make it four straight when it closes out the 2021 regular season in Magnolia, Arkansas, with the Reddies taking on Southern Arkansas inside the W.T. Watson Athletic Center Thursday, November 11 at 6:30 p.m.

Henderson State (20-8, 9-6)
The volleyball team played in front of its biggest crowd of the season Tuesday when it treated the home fans to a 25-16, 25-15, 28-26 sweep of rival Ouachita Baptist, giving HSU its third 20-win season in four years. The Reddies hit .238 for the match, including a staggering .400 in the second set.

Henderson has now posted back-to-back sweeps and has won seven consecutive sets.
Tyasia McGruder has seen the best three-match stretch of her collegiate career, posting 23 kills and hitting .292 in that span.

Mya Robinson has joined the 300-club with
Violeta Mendoza Quintana as both outside hitters have eclipsed the 300-kill mark for the season. Robinson also has 315 digs on the season as she is only one of two players in the GAC to have 300+ kills and 300+ digs (Addison Wimmer – Northwestern Okla. St.).

In the season's first meeting between Southern Arkansas and HSU, the Reddies put on an attacking clinic as only 10 errors were to be had compared to 37 kills on only 79 total attacks by Henderson that night. In addition to the offensive onslaught, the HSU defense held the Muleriders to a .084 attacking percentage. Â

Scouting Southern Arkansas (5-20, 1-14)
Southern Arkansas has dropped 10 straight matches with its last win coming against Ouachita Baptist back on Sept. 30. That lone win came inside the W.T. Watson Athletic Center where SAU is 1-7 this season.

A pair of freshman outside hitters lead the Muleriders' offense, beginning with Victoria White who has 268 kills, followed by Lauren Rogers with 255 winners. Sophomore setter Morgan Schuster is the catalyst for the squad as she has accumulated a staggering 815 assists thus far.

What to Watch For…

Taylor Scalzi needs just two more assists to become only the eighth Reddie ever to accumulate 1900 assists in their collegiate career.
Makenzie Thoman also only needs 18 more digs to become the fifth Reddie to ever reach 1800 career digs.

-Mendoza Quintana has 467 kills in her two years at HSU. With at least two matches remaining for HSU with the GAC Tournament following Thursday's match, the Chihuahua, Mexico, native needs 33 more kills to reach 500.
