ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Off its home-opening win against Christian Brothers, Henderson State will play its second true road game of the season when it heads to Tyler, Texas, to play the University of Texas at Tyler Patriots Saturday, Nov. 20 inside Louise Herrington Patriot Center at 2 p.m.

REDDIES REPORT
The Reddies had their highest offensive output on Wednesday, scoring 86 points while holding the Lady Bucs to 45. Five HSU players scored in double-figures, led by
Ashley Farrar and
Karrington Whaley with 16 a piece. Whaley added 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the short season.
Â
Along with Whaley, Farrar and
Gracie Raby combined for 13 rebounds as Henderson as a team gathered 53 boards compared to CBU's 37. In addition to the work the Reddies put on the glass, HSU forced 27 Lady Buccaneer turnovers – the most since facing Southern Arkansas on Feb. 1, 2021 (27).
Â
After only scoring more than 80 points five times last season, the Henderson offense has already eclipsed that mark twice through three games. The Reddies have three players averaging over 10 points a game – Farrar (16.3), Raby (10.3) and Whaley (10.3) – as well as three players who are shooting better than 50% from the field on a minimum of 18 total shots –
Tamia Templeton (55.6),
Lani Snowden (52.2) and Whaley (51.7).
Â
Henderson St. is 1-0 on the road this season while Texas-Tyler is 1-0 at home. Something will have to give in Saturday's first ever meeting between HSU and the Patriots. That home victory for UTT was the first win inside the Patriot Center since Nov. 11, 2019.
Â
SCOUTING TEXAS-TYLER
After a two year stretch where Texas-Tyler won only three games, a new era begins as the Patriots are led by first-year head coach Rebecca Alvidrez. In Alvidrez's first game as the point person for the UTT women's basketball program, the Patriots got their first home victory in 18 home contests.
Â
Against LeTourneau, Liah Davis scored a team-high 14 points, followed by Destini Whitehead and Montse Gutierrez (12). Whitehead also contributed a game-high eight assists and five rebounds to highlight a busy evening. The Patriots shot 49.3% from the field in the victory.

What To Watch For…
-Over the last three seasons, the magic number for Henderson has been 80. In that time, the Reddies are 16-3 when scoring 80 or more points in the regular season, including winners of six in a row when reaching that mark.
