Ashley Farrar and
Gracie Raby each registered season-highs in scoring as Henderson State put a season-high 91 points, defeating Arkansas-Fort Smith on the night before Thanksgiving, 91-61.

Farrar led all scorers with 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting (62.5%) while Raby added 19 on 9-15 shooting (60%). As a team, the Reddies shot a blistering 55.1% (38-69), marking the fourth time in five games they have shot better than 45% from the field.

Karrington Whaley and
Jadah Pickens also scored in double-digits, contributing 13 and 10, respectively. Whaley added a game-high 15 rebounds, including 10 defensive rebounds, for a double-double.

The HSU defense forced 25 turnovers as seven Reddies claimed at least two steals, Raby leading the effort with three steals. Henderson used that to the points-off-turnover battle, 33-17. Henderson allowed the Lady Lions to only muster a 37.3% shooting percentage on the evening.

The Reddies put their stamp on the contest quickly, rattling off 30 points in the opening quarter to UAFS' 12. Arkansas-Fort Smith cut into that lead slightly as halftime showed the scoreboard 49-34 in favor of the visiting team.

Henderson blew open the game come the third quarter as a 9-2 run to close the frame gave HSU a commanding 74-47 lead. Three a half minutes into the fourth, a
Bobbi Bazzle layup gave the Reddies their biggest lead of the game at 81-47. Henderson hung on the rest of the way for the 91-61 victory.

Henderson St. (4-1) will return to the hardwood in December when conference play gets underway with Arkansas-Monticello coming to the Duke Wells Center Thursday, December 2 at 5:30 p.m.
