ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State takes a brief break from conference play with a stand-alone mid-week contest against National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) member Bacone College out of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Tip-off inside the Duke Wells Center is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec, 15 at 5:30 p.m.

REDDIES REPORT
Henderson is coming off its biggest win of the season with a 77-72 victory over Arkansas Tech, handing the Golden Suns their first conference loss of the season. Karrington Whaley's 24-point, 14-rebound performance on 11-of-15 shooting earned her the Great American Conference's Player of the Week.

Whaley has been on an absolute tear in the last four games for the Reddies, seeing a double-double in three of those contests. Her only game in that span where she did not have a double-double was a 112-99 loss at Southern Arkansas. Since Thanksgiving, the fifth-year senior is averaging 18.7 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per game while shooting 73.5% from the field.

Whaley is currently second in the GAC in rebounding (9.5 rpg) and first in field-goal percentage (63.0), which is the eighth best mark in Division II. Where she is really standing head and shoulders above the competition is on the offensive glass, pulling down 4.9 a game to lead the league.

Head coach Jill Thomas has coached her squad to maximize their opportunities from beyond the arc through eight games. As a team, HSU is fourth in the league with a 36.2 three-pointer percentage, yet is only putting up 19 threes a game, which is the fourth fewest in the league. Lani Snowden is second in the conference with a 51.4 three-pointer percentage and is knocking down 2.4 a game.

Wednesday will be the third all-time meeting against the Lady Warriors, with Henderson winning the first two matchups, both of which came under Thomas. The last time these teams played, HSU used 29 points from Snowden, including going 5-8 from deep, and 16 from Whaley to claim a 103-47 victory.

SCOUTING BACONE COLLEGE
Bacone was 8-9 last year and finished the season on a four game winning streak, including a three-point overtime victory over the NAIA's then-No. 6 College of the Ozarks, 72-69. This season under head coach Tera Cuny-Baker, the Lady Warriors are 1-17 and are currently on a 14-game losing streak.

In 11 games, junior guard Madison Slinkey is shooting 35.1% from three and is hitting just over one a game on average. Sophomore guard Jayla McIntosh will see the most action of anyone on Bacone's sideline as she is averaging 31.6 minutes per game is grabbing 7.1 rebounds per game, second only to Taisha Big Crow (7.6 rpg).

What To Watch For…
-Lani Snowden, with 172 career made three-pointers, is one shy of tying Linda Lyle for third most in program history and needs two more to pass her. The last time Snowden played against Bacone, she went off for five treys on eight attempts.

-Ashley Farrar leads HSU with 15.9 points per game and has scored in double digits in every game this season. With 10 or more points on Wednesday, she will have the most consecutive double-digit scoring games in a single season since Hailey Estes rattled off nine straight in the 2019-20 season.
