Reddies Battle GAC-Leader OKBU Saturday in Shawnee

LIVE COVERAGE LINKS | GAME NOTES

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State continues its tour of the Sooner State on Saturday as the Reddies face GAC-leader Oklahoma Baptist at 3 p.m. in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

REDDIES REPORT
- The Reddies fell for the second time this week to Southern Nazarene on Thursday in Bethany, Oklahoma, 67-61. HSU trailed by 11 at halftime and cut the deficit down to three in the second half before eventually falling short in the final minutes. The loss dropped Henderson to 7-5 in the GAC and into a tie for fourth-place in the league with Northwestern Oklahoma State.

- HSU's extreme depth continues to be a defining attribute this season. The Reddies have nine players averaging 19 or more minutes per game. Henderson does not currently have a player averaging double figures in scoring, but boasts eight players averaging six points or more. Eight different players have led HSU in scoring in a game this year.

- Big man Tomislav Miholjcic recorded his fourth-straight game of double digit scoring on Thursday with 14 points against SNU. Miholjcic has led HSU in points in each of the last four contests and is the only player on the team this season who has been in double figures for four-straight contests. He is shooting 63.4% during that stretch.

- Despite dropping two games to the Crimson Storm this week, the Reddies still lead the GAC in both field goal percentage defense (41%) and steals per game (8.8). HSU has held four of its last six opponents to a field goal percentage of under 40%.

- Through 12 conference games, Henderson has been whistled for more fouls than its opponent 11 times. The Reddies were called for twice as many fouls as SNU on Thursday (22-11) and took half as many free throws in a six point loss.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
- Oklahoma Baptist enters Saturday's game 12-6 overall and a league-best 9-3 in GAC action. The Bison have won five of their last six games and are a half-game up on Southeastern Oklahoma State in the conference standings. OKBU is 6-1 at home this year and defeated Henderson 83-78 in the first matchup between the teams on Dec. 30.

- The Bison have one of the best players in the league at their disposal in guard Burke Putnam, who leads the GAC in scoring (20.5 points per game) and scored 28 points in OKBU's last game against the Reddies. Putnam has been in double figures for 10-straight games and has gotten to the line 88 times this year. Three other players average 11 points for Oklahoma Baptist: Jaquan Simms, Brantly Thompson and Harrison Stoddart.

- As a team, Oklahoma Baptist is No. 2 in the conference in scoring offense (74.2), rebounding margin (+2.5) and blocked shots (3.5 per game) against league opponents.
