Volleyball Set to Host Harding

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State returns to the Duke Wells Center to host Harding University after spending the last few weeks on the road. The Reddies will take the court against the Lady Bison on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
 
Henderson State (8-17, 2-11)
HSU traveled to Russellville, Ark. to take on Arkansas Tech in the Tucker Coliseum. The Reddies struck first, winning the first set, but two closely contested sets would go Arkansas Tech's way. Henderson would eventually fall to the Golden Suns in the fourth set.
 
The Reddies had two players eclipse double-digit kills against Arkansas Tech. Christiane Uzoh led the team with 13, and close behind, Aleah Stogner had 12. The pair put up strong attacking numbers with an attack percentage of .303 and .276, respectively. Uzoh is averaging 2.81 kills per set and an attack average of .217, which leads the team.
 
Kaitlyn Sykes led the defense against the Golden Suns, recording four blocks. The junior middle blocker now has 74 total blocks; 24 are solo and 50 assisted. The Henderson defense is out-blocking its opponents 205 to 141.5 and is averaging 2.2 per set.
 
The first meeting this season between the Reddies and Lady Bison went Harding's way as they defeated Henderson 3-0. The most recent victory for HSU over HU was in 2019 when the Lady Bison made the trip to the Duke Wells Center. Henderson would go on to win the match 3-2.
 
Scouting Harding
The Lady Bison enter the match as the best team in the GAC, boasting a 13-0 conference record. Harding is currently riding a 22-match win streak after defeating Ouachita Baptists in three sets and has clinched a spot in the GAC tournament. The Lady Bison will now look to hold the top spot with three remaining matches.  
 
Against Ouachita, the McKinnon sisters both recorded 11 kills, while Kelli McKinnon led the team with four total blocks. The senior middle blocker not only leads the team with 279 kills, she also has a team-high 87 total blocks. K. McKinnon leads the conference with a .356 attack percentage, is fifth in the league in kills and is second in blocks, averaging 1.04 blocks per set.
 
Logan Smith and Skyler McKinnon round out the Lady Bison attack with 243 and 211 kills, respectively. Grecia Soriano leads the team and the GAC with 41 service aces and averages .48 a set. The senior had four in the Lady Bison's last match.
