ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State fell to Southeastern Oklahoma State University in five sets. The Reddies took the early lead but would drop two sets in a row. HSU climbed back to tie the match 2-2 after being down 2-1 but would fall short in the fifth set.  Â

Madison Hatt and
Aleah Stogner both recorded a double-double. Hatt has now tallied her sixth of the season, registering 27 assists and ten digs against the Savage Storm. Stogner accumulated ten kills and ten digs, receiving her fourth double-double.

On the net,
Brae Denton and
Kaitlyn Sykes led the team's defense with six and five blocks, respectively. The pair also had their hands in the attack, Denton tallying eight kills while Sykes finished with nine.
Christiane Uzoh had three blocks, third most on the team, and led the team with 14 kills.

Henderson (7-13, 1-7) returns to action tomorrow to face East Central University at 4 p.m.

SET ONE
The Savage Storm began the scoring, but the Reddies responded with a flurry of attacks to lead 5-2. Denton had back-to-back kills to keep SE at arm's length, up 7-4. A four-point run by HSU grew its advantage to 16-9 and continued to score, going up 20-10, outscoring the Savage Storm 8-1. Â

SE responded with a pair of kills, but it would not be enough as Henderson outscored its opposition 5-1 to win set one 25-13. The Reddies finished with an attack average of .262, with 15 kills and only four errors.

SET TWO
A quick start by Southeastern Oklahoma put them up 4-0 early. The Savage Storm attacked in bursts to go up 9-3 and 13-6. The Reddies responded with a 7-1 run to trail by one, 14-13. SE found breathing room after a four-point run, up 18-13.

Henderson matched the Savage Storm's attack, outscoring them 8-2 to take its first lead of the set. SE quickly regained control after a pair of kills and finished the set with two more to win 25-23.

SET THREE Â
The Reddies jumped to a 6-2 lead, but the Savage Storm cut into the lead and was tied 8-8. Southeastern Oklahoma took its first lead after a four-point run to go up 11-8. The two sides would be at a stalemate, tied at 12-12 and 15-15. A six-point run by SE opened the deadlock, going up 21-15. A late flurry of attacks from the Savage Storm secured a set win, 25-18.

SET FOUR
HSU shot out to a 4-1 lead in a must-win most set. The Reddies kept up the attack going up 8-4 and eventually 12-6. The Savage Storm cut into the deficit with three kills to trail 15-12. Henderson kept up the attack to keep a three-point advantage through most of the set. Up 21-19, HSU scored four straight points to win the set 25-19, forcing a final set.

Henderson's attack stayed hot, scoring four early points to go up 4-1. Southeastern responded after a quick attack by the Reddies, scoring three points to trail 5-4. A three-point run by the Reddies put them ahead 8-4.

 After the sides switched sides, the Savage Storm scored the first four points to tie the set 8-8. SE outscored HSU 7-2 to win the set 15-11, ending the Reddies comeback
