Box Score SEARCY, Ark. – Henderson State gets tripped up by Emporia State, 79-51, in the final game of the GAC/MIAA Conference Challenge.

Ashley Farrar led the scoring with 20 points, going 6-8 from beyond the arc and shooting 64% from the field.
Abbie Jiles had a team-high seven assists while also recording eight points and four rebounds. The Reddies shot 35.7% from the field and 28.6% from the three-point line while also going 3-3 from the charity line.

Emporia opened the first period, scoring the game's first four points. A pair of threes by Sonni Marin and Farrar would put the Reddies ahead 11-8. ESU countered the Reddies' attacks with four layups in a row to close out the period to give the Lady Hornets a 17-15 lead after ten minutes.

The two sides traded threes to open the second period, with the score tied 20-20. The Reddies continued to attack from deep, registering back-to-back threes from Farrar to keep the game tied at 26-26. Emporia State responded by outscoring Henderson 11-2 to end the first half, 37-28.

Through the first 20 minutes, the Reddies shot 44% from the field and 42% from beyond the arc. Farrar scored 14 points, going 4-6 from three while also recording three rebounds. Jiles led the team through two periods with four assists.

The Lady Hornets opened the second half with an early layup, but Farrar continued to stay hot from beyond the arc, hitting two threes in a row to cut the deficit to 41-36. A 16-6 run by Emporia State that featured back-to-back threes would close out the third period, 59-44. Â

ESU started the final period with an eleven-point run before HSU responded with a three from Maritn. The Lady Hornets outscored the Reddies 9-4 at the end of the frame to win 79-51. Â

Henderson State (0-2, 0-0) faces Champion Christian College in its home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.
