Reddies Fall to Harding in Series Finale Monday

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — No. 16 Henderson State limited Harding to just four hits in the series finale on Monday afternoon, but the Bisons scraped together two runs in the late innings to defeat the Reddies 2-1 and salvage a game at Clyde Berry Field.

The loss for HSU (17-3, 9-3) was its first at home this season and snapped a 21-game home-winning streak dating back to April of 2021.

Bryson Haskins was responsible for the Reddies' only run in the contest, as his solo home run in the sixth inning briefly gave Henderson a 1-0 lead. It was Haskins' first home run of the year. As a team, the Reddies were held to five hits by Harding starter Maddox Long, who pitched eight innings, gave up the one run and struck out four.

Cade Tucker pitched well to earn a no-decision for HSU and went seven innings surrendering just one run on three hits. Tucker struck out five and walked two.

After falling behind 1-0, the Bisons scored single runs in both the seventh and eighth frames to take a 2-1 lead. Both runs came on two-out RBI hits. Henderson put the tying run on second base in the eighth, but was unable to bring the runner home.

The Reddies return to action at home tomorrow evening when they host Mississippi College at 5 p.m. in a non-conference game.
