JACKSON, Tennessee- Henderson State stays on the road as they travel to take on Lane College, Thursday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. The Reddies will look to bounce back after two consecutive defeats.Â

Henderson began conference play in their last match against Harding University. The Reddies were unable to secure a victory, losing 3-0.Â
HSU continues to play without outside hitter Violate Mendoza Quintana, who is still battling an injury. In her absence, newcomer Aleah Stogner has stepped up to help Christiane Uzoh in attack, both leading the team in kills.Â
Brae Denton featured in two sets against Harding as she makes her way back to match fitness after dealing with an injury. Last season Denton finished with 139 total blocks, including 23 solo blocks and 133 kills.Â
The Reddies and Dragons last met in 2018, facing each other twice in two months. Henderson swept Lane College in both matches and leads the head-to-head 2-0.Â
Scouting Lane College
The Dragons started their season with four wins in a row but have now lost three of their last five matches, including a defeat to Trevecca Nazarene University in their most recent match. Lane College could not secure a set win against TNU, losing 3-0.Â
Outside hitter Bre'elle Hawkins leads the Dragon's attack with her 70 kills, and her strike partner Kyra Gatson has 65. The team as a collective has 315 kills, registering an attack average of .222.Â
On the net, Gatson leads the team with 17 total blocks, recording ten solo and seven block assists. The Dragons have 48 blocks on the season, averaging 1.5 per set.Â
What to Watch For…Â
- The last time the Reddies lost three consecutive matches was in the 2020-2021 spring season. In a shortened season due to COVID, Henderson faced only GAC competition. The Reddies won their first match, but fell to Harding, Arkansas Tech and Ouachita Baptist in successive matches.Â
