Ashley Farrar scores 30 in Henderson Stats' dominant 20-point win over Southwestern Oklahoma State, 85-65. The Reddies improve to 5-3 in conference play and are 8-6 overall.

Brynlee Huggins put on a shooting clinic for the Reddies, scoring 14 points in less than ten minutes of action. Huggins went 5-5 from the field and 4-4 from beyond the arc while also recording a rebound and steal.

Sonni Martin tallied a team-high six rebounds and was one of four players to score double-digit points with ten. Henderson shot 47.7 percent from the field and 52.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Reddies took advantage of their trips to the foul line, converting 76.5 percent on 17 attempts.

A quick start for the Reddies saw them surge ahead to 8-0 lead in the opening three minutes. The Lady Bulldogs scored their first points of the game with 6:22 left, HSU leading 10-2. The two sides traded layups before a two-minute drought, which was broken by a layup from SWOSU. Farrar scored the last four points of the period for the Reddies, leading 19-13.

Raby connected on a triple and a layup to put HSU up by eight, 24-16, with 8:43 remaining in the second period. However, a 5-0 run by the Lady Bulldogs cut the deficit to five and would eventually take a one-point advantage after a three-pointer. True freshman
Olivia Allen made a pair of free-throws and a jumper with four seconds left, while Huggins made a triple to re-establish the Reddies lead 36-30 heading into halftime.

Henderson shot 40.0 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from the three-point line in the opening half. Farrar led the team with 15 points and was 6-6 from the foul line.

It was two minutes into the third period before Martin scored the first points of the second half after connecting from deep to put the Reddie up 39-31. After trading baskets, the Lady Bulldogs brought the game within six points, but a triple from
JJ Eddens and a layup from Farrar re-established a double-digit lead, 56-45. SWOSU would cut the deficit to nine before the period ended, converting two shots from the foul line, 56-47. Â

Farrar scored five straight points to start the final period. The Reddies kept on the front foot with back-to-back triples from Huggins to extend HSU's advantage to 67-50.
Bobbi Bazzle and Eddens got in on the scoring as the Reddies stayed hot, leading 75-55. Huggins and Martin each made a triple in the game's last minutes as Henderson cruised to a 20-point win, 85- 65.

Henderson State (8-6, 5-3) hits the road for its next game, traveling to Magnolia, Ark. to take on Southern Arkansas on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m.
