DURANT, Okla – The Henderson State defense clamps down on the Savage Storm, holding them to two single-digit point periods as the Reddies defeat Southeastern Oklahoma State 61-52.

Ashley Farrar recorded a double-double in the win over SE with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Abbie Jiles was the Reddies' second-leading scorer with 11 points and tallied six rebounds. HSU shot 37.7 percent from the field and 32.0 percent from beyond the arc.

Jiles and Farrar combined to put the Reddies ahead 6-3, but the Savage Storm responded with an 8-0 run to take their first lead of the game, 12-6. Back-to-back triples from
JJ Eddens and
Sonni Martin brought Henderson within two of Southeastern Oklahoma State, 14-12.

The Savage Storm drained their third three-pointer of the period and followed it up with a layup to lead 19-14 after one period played. Â

Strong defense from Henderson held Southeastern Oklahoma State to just six points in the second period. The Savage Storm made just one layup, with the other four points coming from the foul line. Raby and Farrar made jumpers with less than a minute on the clock to give the Reddies a four-point advantage heading into halftime, 29-25.

Farrar played 11 minutes in the first half and led the team with ten points and five rebounds. Seven different Reddies found the basket as the team shot 40.0 percent from the field and 30.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Jiles drained an early trey in the third period before Farrar hit from deep and in the paint to put Henderson ahead by ten, 37-27, forcing an early timeout by the Savage Storm at 6:07 in the third. Farrar broke a scoring drought for both teams with a layup after three minutes of no points, 40-30. Henderson again held the Savage Storm to single-digit points in the third period, leading 43-32.

Southeastern Oklahoma State began to chip away at HSU's advantage, outscoring the Reddies 9-4 as they cut the lead to four, 47-43. Layups from Jiles and Raby extended HSU's advantage before
Jasmine Bailey made a shot from deep to give Henderson its largest lead of the game, 57-45. In control, the Reddies closed out the game at the foul line, winning 61-52.
