Box Score ALVA, Okla. – Henderson State splits the season series with Northwestern Oklahoma State, falling to the Lady Rangers 62-49 inside the Percefull Fieldhouse.  
 
The Reddies return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 5:30 p.m. when they host rivals Ouachita Baptist in the second installment of the Battle of the Ravine.
 
Ashley Farrar led the team with 13 points and four rebounds, while Sonni Martin had nine points and a team-high four assists and two steals. HSU shot 28.8 percent from the field and 27.9 percent from beyond the arc against the Lady Rangers. 
 
Henderson attacked from deep early and often, making four triples in the opening frame. Farrar drained a basket from beyond the arc to put HSU up 3-2 in the first minute of play. Martin made her first before Farrar connected on another one to lead 11-6.
 
Jiles got in on the action scoring her first three-pointer of the contest before NWOSU scored a late layup to bring the game level after one period, 14-14.  
 
The Lady Rangers came out of the gates hot in the second period, beginning the frame with a 7-0 run to take the lead, 21-14. The Reddies struggled to put the ball in the basket as they went 2-12 from the field in the period with five points. NWOSU outscored HSU 9-1 in the final five minutes to take a 33-20 advantage into halftime.  
 
A back-and-forth third period would see the Reddies cut into NWOUS' lead after a 7-0 run in the middle of the frame to trail by four, 40-36. The two sides traded baskets for the last three minutes of the quarter, with the Lady Rangers ahead 48-42 after three periods of play.
 
Similar to the second period, HSU's offense struggled to find the basket, which allowed Northwestern Oklahoma State to begin to grow a lead after a 6-0 run to go up 54-42. The Lady Rangers remained in control till the final buzzer, 62-49.
