Reddies Look to Extend Win Streak at Harding

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State wraps up the regular season with a trip to Searcy, Arkansas to face Harding on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
 
REDDIES REPORT
Henderson secured the three-seed spot at the GAC Tournament with its win over Arkansas Tech. The Reddies posted one of their best shooting performances of the season, converting 45.2 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Ashley Farrar moved into the top five on the all-time scorer's list (1348) with 29 points and jumped to number five in career-made three-point field goals (154) after going 4-8 against ATU. Gracie Raby recorded her fourth consecutive game with ten or more points, scoring 14, and had eight rebounds and two assists.
 
Sonni Martin has been the team's facilitator all season and had seven assists and zero turnovers in the win over Arkansas Tech. The Jonesboro, Ark. native has set up 85 baskets this season and is averaging 3.1 assists a game. Tamia Templeton got her ninth start of the season against the Golden Suns and went on to grab ten rebounds and score four points.
 
The Reddies are riding a four-game win streak and have won six of eight games in the month of February. Henderson's offense has been clicking on all cylinders lately, scoring 80 points in three of the last four games, and is the fifth-best scoring offense in the GAC (67.8).
 
Harding got the better of Henderson in the first meeting, defeating the Reddies 83-65 inside the Duke Wells Center. Farrar and Abbie Jiles led HSU that evening with 19 and 18 points, respectively. HSU had won four straight over the Lady Bison, including back-to-back home and away wins before the loss.
 
SCOUTING HARDING
Like Henderson, Harding is also on a streak of wins with five consecutive victories, including a 68-47 win over Arkansas-Monticello in its last outing. HU locked up a spot as the two seed heading into the GAC Tournament with its most recent win.   
 
The Lady Bisons are led by Sage Hawley, who is averaging a double-double each outing. The forward is scoring 19.2 points a game and grabbing a GAC-best 10.6 rebounds. Hawley has 17 double-doubles this season and recorded one in Harding's most recent game with 24 points and ten rebounds.
 
Hawley leads the stout Lady Bison defense that gives up a league-low 56.6 points with 2.3 blocks per game and is tied for fourth in the nation with 64 total blocks. During their five-game win streak, the Lady Bisons have given up an average of 51.2 points and have 20 blocks and 27 steals.
