ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - In its second trip across the street this season, Henderson State Cross Country claimed fifth place at the Tiger Invitational hosted by Ouachita Baptist University on Friday.
HSU earned its spot in the top five with a score of 139 points.
Host OBU took first with a score of 24 points, while the GAC's Southeastern Oklahoma State (second with 34 points) and Southern Arkansas (third with 91 points) rounded out the podium. Texas A&M-Texarkana finished in fourth place after posting a team score of 108.
Heidy Galvan recorded a new season-best time of 20:28.80: a performance that helped her earn her second top 25 finish of the season. Natalie Jennings and Jaide Tatum both completed the race in less than 23 minutes to claim top 50 spots in the individual standings.
Friday's race marked the end of the Reddies' regular season slate. Henderson will now compete at the Great American Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 26.
