Shawnee, Okla. - Henderson State volleyball fell to Oklahoma Baptist on the road by a score of 3-1 on Friday.
Following a five-set match with Southern Nazarene last night, the Reddies battled a tough Oklahoma Baptist team looking to claim its third straight victory. The Reddies were led by junior Katilyn Steffes, who finished the match with a match-high 14 kills, and sophomore Cassidi Campbell, who contributed eight blocks.Â
The Reddies opened the match with six unanswered points before going on to win the first set 25-17. Senior Madison Hatt contributed seven assists in the set and 20 assists overall.Â
Henderson found success at the net defensively throughout the night, finishing with 12 blocks as a team.Â
The Bison found their groove in the second set on their way to three straight set wins. Friday's victory brought Oklahoma Baptist's home winning streak to four matches.
HSU returns to the Duke Wells Center to face East Central on Thursday, October 17, in the what will mark the start of a three-match home stand.Â
