Reddies Force Overtime, Drop Heartbreaker to Rogers State

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  -  Henderson State forced overtime before finding itself on the wrong end of a 73-68 result against Rogers State at the Duke Wells Center on Saturday.

In a game that saw eight lead changes and nine ties, Jadah Pickens made a two-point jumper as time expired in the fourth quarter to force overtime. The visiting Hillcats outscored the Reddies 12-7 in OT to provide the final result.

Pickens put up 17 points, giving her a sixth consecutive game with double-digit scoring to open the 2024-25 season. She also paced HSU with nine rebounds.

Marlee Raby provided a breakout offensive performance by tallying 16 points on .500 shooting from the field. The freshman from Mount Vernon, Arkansas, made two of her three attempts from three-point range.

Brynlee Huggins recorded 12 points and three three-pointers.

Bobbi Bazzle posted five offensive boards to bring her GAC-leading average to 3.8 per game.

The Reddies will tip off Great American Conference play at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday, December 5. That game in Durant, Oklahoma, is slated for a 5:30 p.m. start.
