Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Falls to Southeastern Oklahoma, 93-68

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Zyon Patterson responded to his 38-point career-high in his last outing with another 20-point game, but Henderson State would fall to the GAC-leading Southeastern Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon, 93-68.

The Savage Storm torched the nets all night, making 15 three-pointers, including 10 in the first half. The Reddies managed just five while also only shooting 39.1 percent (27-of-69) from the floor compared to 50.8 percent (31-of-61) for SE.

Patterson posted his second straight double-double, going for 20 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. In the last two games, the Crossett, Arkansas, native has recorded 58 points and 27 rebounds.

Southeastern was slow-and-steady through the early going as the Reddies stayed within eight for the first five minutes of game action and then 10 around the midway point of the opening frame.

With just under six minutes remaining until halftime, SE blew the game open with a 10-0 run to race ahead by 19 before seeing a 22-point advantage at the break, 55-33.

The Reddies were never able to get the deficit back to within 20 as Southeastern's win streak extended to 11 with HSU splitting its final regular season Oklahoma road trip.

Henderson St. (8-17, 7-13 GAC) will remain in the Natural State for its next game as it heads to Russellville, Arkansas, to take on Arkansas Tech Thursday, Feb. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
