HSU would post another crooked number in the top of the third, scoring three runs to go back in front 4-2 after a three-run home run by Akers. Starting pitcher
Savannah Carrigan kept the Golden Suns off the scoreboard in the bottom of the third, but the ATU bats made some noise in the fourth, scoring another three runs to regain the lead 5-4.
Henderson kept swinging the bat well in the later stages of the game, as
Karlye Johnston tied the game 5-5 in the sixth with a solo shot to center field. The Reddies threatened to add more runs in the same frame with the bases loads, but the Golden Suns were able to work out it and strand all three runners.
Jackson helped give the Reddies the lead in the top of the seventh with a two-run home run to go ahead 7-5. Henderson plated another two runs in the frame to give them some breathing room, heading into the bottom of the seventh up 9-5.
Meagan Allen, who came entered in the sixth, struck out the first two batters in the seventh and would get a ground out to retire the side in order and secure the win.
GAME TWO: ATU 5, HSU 2
Starting pitcher Allen kept Arkansas Tech at bay for most of the game, as she gave the Reddies 5.0 scoreless innings. Henderson would take the lead off the back of Allen's strong start in the top of the second, scoring two runs. A walk by

After being kept quiet for most of the game, the Golden Suns bats finally came to life in the sixth, which saw them take the lead 5-2. Arkansas Tech chained together five hits and an error to score all five runs.
HSU threatened in the top of the seventh, trailing by three runs, with runners on first and second with one out. However, the Golden Suns' pitching staff tightened up and would get the next two Henderson batters to pop up for the final two outs to pick up the series win in the rubber match.
