Reddies Headed to Shawnee for Battle with the Bison

WBB GAME NOTES AT OKLAHOMA BAPTIST: JANUARY 18, 2025

SHAWNEE, Okla.  -  Henderson State is set to face Oklahoma Baptist in its final road game of the first half of the GAC season. Tip-off at the Noble Complex is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 18.

REDDIES REPORT
The Reddies look to rebound with a road test at Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday. HSU has won three straight meetings with the Bison, including a 63-56 victory in the two teams' last matchup at Noble Complex on February 1, 2024. HSU is 12-4 against OKBU in the Great American Conference era.

Natalie Cardenas and Brynlee Huggins both enter Saturday's contest with double-digit scoring streaks of three games or more. Huggins has reached the 10-point mark in eight straight games en route to becoming one of the GAC's top five scorers (16 points per game).

Sam Basson recorded three steals and three assists in Thursday's loss at SNU. The sophomore from Allen, Texas, has posted three or more assists in four of her last five games.

Bobbi Bazzle paced the team with nine rebounds against the Crimson Storm. Both Bazzle (7.1) and Makenna Winans (7.7) are amongst the top six players on the GAC leaderboard for boards per game.

Henderson State is one of only four teams in the conference averaging 68 or more points per game in GAC play (68.2).

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
The Bison aim to defeat the Reddies for the first time since January 5, 2023 (a 61-54 home win). Oklahoma Baptist is 4-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 at home against Arkansas-based GAC teams in 2024-25.

Mackenzie Crusoe scored 21 points and shot 50 percent from the field in Thursday's win against Ouachita Baptist. Crusoe is currently third in the GAC with an average of 16.5 points per game.

Freshman Katelyn Davis recorded a career-high four blocks against the Tigers. Jill Leslie tallied three rejections of her own, bringing her season average to 1.4 per game (tied for third in the conference).

Oklahoma Baptist possesses the GAC's second-best points per game average (69.2) since the start of conference play. They trail only first-place Harding (70.8).
