MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Reddies improved to 9-3 with a 55-52 win road win over the Boll Weevils to start 2025.

Nehikhare Igiehon's 17 points on 61.5 percent shooting from the field, Henderson State held on late to secure the win. Igiehon had a team-high plus-minus rating of plus-15 in just 25 minutes of play.
HSU's bench outscored the UAM's bench 19-7: a recurring theme for Reddie victories. The Reddies turned defense into offense with 15 points off of 22 Boll Weevil turnovers.
Matthew Mayes added five steals and two blocks to his defensive resume. He is ranked top 10 in the country in steals per game (3.1).
As a team, Henderson had eight different scorers but only two players in double digits. The Reddies trailed going into the second half by one point. HSU outscored the Boll Weevils by four points in the second half.
After today's result, the Reddies sit in third place in the conference with a 5-1 record in GAC play. Henderson State is the only team in the conference to be undefeated on the road in conference play, starting 4-0 on the road.
