ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson faced off in the Battle of the Ravine against Ouachita Baptist tonight, falling 3-0. The Reddies also acknowledged their four departing seniors on Senior night.
Jessie Jerome,
Savannah Coats,
Katilyn Steffes and
Emma Parsons were all recognized tonight for their contributions to Reddie Volleyball.
Kelis Battles was the primary attacker tonight for the Reddies, as she collected 12 kills on the night to lead the team, while Coats added 11 kills to follow.
Braxton Jones led the offensive attack, providing 25 assists, while
Skylar Holler added 17. On the defensive side,
Kaylon Partain recorded 34 digs to lead the Reddies, while Jones provided 24. At the net,
Cassidi Campbell led the Reddies with two blocks, while Coats,
Lasheena Gooseberry, and
Rylee Smith all added one.
Match Recap
The first set started off even, as both teams exchanged points early. A 3-0 run by the Tigers gave them a 9-6 lead, the Reddies rallied, scoring a 4-0 run to take the lead 12-11, before another 4-0 run by Ouachita gave them a 15-12 lead. They did not sacrifice the lead the rest of the set, and though Henderson forced extra points, Ouachita secured the set 27-25.
For the second set, Ouachita used three 3-0 runs to hold a 9-3 lead. The Reddies were unable to rally, and fell in the second set 25-13.
In the final set, Henderson stayed even with the Tigers, until a 3-0 run gave Ouachita a 6-4 lead. While the Reddies valiantly fought, two late runs were not enough for Henderson to rally, and they lost the set and match 25-19.
