Women's Basketball Bested by Muleriders on the Road

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Reddies went on the road to face the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas tonight, ultimately losing 64-61.

The Reddies (7-2, 3-2) were led tonight by Natalie Cardenas, who scored 20 points, who was 7-15 from the floor, and 3-6 from three. Riley Samples and Grayson Fairless each added 11 points. Fairless led the Reddies with 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double, while Cardenas provided seven. Brynlee Huggins provided the most assists with four, while Sam Basson and Cardenas each added three.

Game Recap
The Reddies started the scoring, scoring the first six points of the game. The Reddies maintained their lead, but Southern Arkansas continued to fight back, tying it 14-14 with two minutes left. The Muleriders used nine unanswered points to hold the lead 20-14 going into the second quarter.

The Muleriders continued their momentum into the second quarter, scoring four more points to hold a 24-14 lead. The Reddies began to surge back, using seven unanswered points to narrow the lead to 24-23. While the Muleriders attempted to retake the lead, Cardenas added five points to give the Reddies a 34-30 lead going into halftime.

The Reddies went on the offensive to start the third quarter, as they scored seven points to hold a 41-32 lead. Henderson State held their lead going into the final quarter, the score at 48-47.

In the final quarter, the Reddies attempted to hold their lead, and going into the final five minutes, led 56-51. Unfortunately, Henderson State couldn't hold on, eventually falling 64-61.
