ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State Softball returned to Dee White Field on Saturday, facing a pair of Missouri schools and defeating Missouri S&T 6-0.
With the first win of the
Joel Worthington era in the rear-view mirror, the Reddies faced off against Northwest Missouri State and the aforementioned Missouri S&T.
HSU finished the day with a win over the Miners on the back of
Jersey Cabana (2-0). Cabana earned her second win of the season with a complete game one-hitter. Cabana struck out two batters, walked none, and allowed no runs.
The Reddies began the scoring in the fourth inning behind a double steal from
Makenna Denofrio that scored
Josie Copeland. Copeland went 2-3 with a walk, a run, and a double in the sixth inning that drove in
Macy Hoskins and Copeland.
Henderson scored five runs in the sixth inning.
Addison Tidwell got the inning started with a single, later scoring off a
Mackenzie Williams sacrifice bunt. The Reddies loaded the bases in the sixth, scoring two off of the Copeland double. HSU drew eight walks in the game - a season high in the young 2025 campaign.
The Reddies opened the day versus Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats won their first game of the day versus Missouri S&T 7-1. The Bearcats scored the first three runs of the game with one in the first and two runs in the third inning.
Kaylin Kauffman entered in the fifth inning in a pinch-hit situation. She went deep to right field, recording the team's first home run of the season.
The Reddies return for the final day of the Hawkins-McGhee Memorial Tournament tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m versus Northwest Missouri State. Henderson will then take on Missouri S&T at noon.
