ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State dropped this season's second Battle of the Ravine meeting to Ouachita Baptist by a score of 70-52 at Bill Vining Arena on Thursday.
After gaining a one-possession lead over the Reddies by the end of the first quarter, the hosting Tigers stretched their lead to double digits in second quarter. OBU won the scoring battle in the third quarter, but HSU outscored its rival 27-23 in the fourth to provide the final result.
Natalie Cardenas led the team with 15 points in her sixth straight outing with double figures.
Freshman Riley Samples posted 11 points, marking the second time this season that she reached double digits in Battle of the Ravine.
Bobbi Bazzle had a team-best seven rebounds and two steals on the night.
Up next, Henderson will host Arkansas-Monticello at the Duke Wells Center on Saturday, February 15. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
