WBB GAME NOTES VS. ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO: FEBRUARY 15, 2025
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State is set to return to the Duke Wells Center for the first time since February 1 to face Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday, February 15. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
REDDIESÂ NOTES
Henderson State aims to earn its third sweep of Arkansas-Monticello in four seasons when the Blossoms come to town on Saturday. The Reddies have won their last three meetings with UAM at the Duke Wells Center.
Natalie Cardenas paced the Reddies with 15 points on Thursday to extend her double-digit scoring streak to six games. The sophomore from Mesquite, Texas, is now fifth on the GAC leaderboard with an average of 14.7 points per game.
Brynlee Huggins had a career-high 27 points in Henderson's win at Arkansas-Monticello on January 4. She shot 10-of-18 from the floor and made five of her 10 attempts from three-point range. The junior guard also tops the conference with 61 threes made this season.
Makenna Winans and Bobbi Bazzle remain two of the GAC's top six rebounders with 7.0 and 6.3 boards per game, respectively. Harding is the only other team in the league boasting multiple players with six or more rebounds per game in 2024-25.
HSU's 37 team rebounds per game since the start of conference play rank third in the GAC. The Reddies are also tied for second on the league leaderboard with 33.8 percent shooting from three during that span.
SCOUTING ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO
Arkansas-Monticello travels to Arkadelphia looking for its first win at the Duke Wells Center since 2020. Three of the Blossoms' four wins at HSU in the Great American Conference era have been decided by four points or less (with two of them being decided by two points).
Bailey Harris had a team-leading 19 points in the Blossoms' loss to SAU on Thursday. The senior from Sachse, Texas, is seventh in the GAC with 14.3 points per game and boasts one of the league's top 20 shooting percentages at 41.5 percent.
Since the start of conference play, UAM has been one of the GAC's top four teams when it comes to generating steals (7.59 per game). Three Blossom players are in the top 25 on the conference leaderboard for steals during that span: Alindsey Long (1.2 per game), Kennedee Shelton (1.1 per game), and Harris (1.1 per game).
