ARKADELPHIA, Ark. Â - Â The Reddies are set to make their longest road trip of the GAC slate to face Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Oklahoma, on Thursday, February 6. Tip-off at Percefull Fieldhouse is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
REDDIES NOTES
Henderson State makes its longest road trip of the GAC season after winning three straight games to open up the second half of conference play. The Reddies won their last meeting with Northwestern Oklahoma State (72-69) and will be on the hunt for their first season sweep of the Rangers since 2019-20.
Natalie Cardenas averaged 22 points per game last week en route to helping HSU achieve a 2-0 record. She led Henderson with 21 points in the team's January 11 win over NWOSU.
Bobbi Bazzle celebrated her birthday on Saturday by collecting 14 rebounds: the most recorded by a Reddie in a single game this season. With Bazzle averaging 6.9 rebounds per game and
Makenna Winans averaging 7.3 per game, HSU is one of only two teams in the conference with multiple players averaging six or more boards per game.
Since the start of Great American Conference play,
Sam Basson is ninth in the league with three assists per game. The sophomore guard has posted three or more assists in eight of her last 10 games.
Henderson's average of 67.2 points per game in GAC play ranks third in the conference. The Reddies continue to pace the league by shooting 36.3 percent from three-point range.
SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE
Northwestern Oklahoma State returns to Percefull Fieldhouse after splitting with Harding and Arkansas Tech on the road last week. The Rangers snapped the Bisons' 33-game home winning streak with a 63-61 victory at Rhodes-Reaves Field House before falling 64-51 at ATU's Tucker Coliseum just two days later. NWOSU has won its last three home matchups with the Reddies.
Thursday night's win at Harding was a team effort, as seven different Ranger players scored six points or more. Carly Craig led the way with 10.
Jaida Shipp put up a season-high 23 points in just 16 minutes played against the Reddies at the Duke Wells Center in January.
NWOSU is third in the GAC with 60.4 points allowed per game in conference play.
