The Reddies would maintain a close score, never falling more than two points behind until a five-point run led the Trojans to a 12-7 lead. Henderson attempted to make a comeback, but Trevecca had the momentum, and ultimately won the first set 25-17.

In the second set, the Trojans began with a quick 5-2 lead, and continued the aggression, pulling to an 8-4 lead before Henderson took a timeout. The Reddies struggled to keep up, falling further behind as Trevecca pulled ahead16-8, but two quick kills by Kelis Battles began a quick 5-0 run for the Reddies that brought the score to 16-13. Henderson continued to keep it close until a late surge led to another Henderson timeout. Unfortunately, that did little to slow the Trojans down and they went on a 7-0 run to win the second set 25-16.

In the final set, the Trojans had all the momentum, going on a quick 5-0 run, and unfortunately, Trevecca never gave up the lead, winning the third set 25-11.
