Henderson Set to Welcome UAM to Begin New Year

2025-26 Men's Basketball Game Notes

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Henderson State men's basketball welcomes Arkansas-Monticello to the Duke Wells Center to start the 2026 portion of its schedule. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

Henderson State opens the new year at home with their 175th all-time matchup against UAM. The Reddies have won each of their last four home games to open a new calendar year and have won the last two matchups with the Weevils.

HSU went into the holiday break on a solid note with an 80-70 win at Southern Arkansas. The Reddies used 26 fast break points and had three different players score in double figures in the first win in Magnolia since December 2021.

Reddies junior guard Zaveion Okoh led HSU with his fifth game of 20 or more points. His 26-point performance was the most scored by any Reddie player in a non-overtime game this season. Okoh's 17.9 points per game ranks third in GAC.

Following the win at Southern Arkansas, Henderson finds themselves ranked in the top five in the GAC in several statistical categories. The Reddies rank first in field goal percentage, second in scoring offense, blocks, steals, and fastbreak points, and third in three-point percentage and bench scoring.

Scouting Arkansas-Monticello

Arkansas-Monticello enters Saturday's game 5-6 overall and 1-4 in GAC play. The Weevils most recently defeated Arkansas Tech, and they will be playing just their second conference road game when they visit the Duke Wells Center.

Isaac Jackson leads a balanced UAM scoring offense; the senior guard is one of four Weevils to average more than 10 points per game. Jackson's 15.4 points per game is sixth best in the Great American Conference.

The Weevils boast the third-best scoring defense in the league, allowing just under 66 points per game. That defense, however, is not creating points off of a solid defense: UAM scores just 67.3 points per game, the lowest total in the GAC.
