Reddies Fall to Tigers on the Road in First Battle of the Ravine of 2026

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Reddies travelled across the street to Ouachita Baptist tonight, falling 89-56.

Henderson State (11-3, 7-3) were led tonight by Natalie Cardenas, who scored 21 points, while Brynlee Huggins and Macy Willis followed with nine and eight respectively. Grayson Fairless led the Reddies in rebounds, collecting 11, while Cardenas followed with eight. Fairless and Cardenas both added an assist and steal.

Game Recap
The first quarter Ouachita opened the scoring, going on a 5-0 run before Fairless scored two to put the Reddies on the board. The Tigers continued to push their lead, holding the score at 12-4 with seven minutes remaining in the quarter. The Reddies continued to trail, sitting behind 18-12 with four minutes left. Henderson State couldn't catch up and ended the first quarter down 26-20. The Reddies shot 44.4 percent in the first quarter with Cardenas leading the Reddies with eight points.

The Reddies continued to push in the second quarter, adding four more to narrow the Ouachita lead to 28-24. The Reddies kept pace with the Tigers, Cardenas scored six to keep Henderson in the quarter, holding the Tigers to two points in the last three minutes of the half, with the score 41-34 to end the half. Cardenas shot 50.0 percent from the field, while Willis added four points for the Reddies. Collectively, the Reddies shot 42.9 percent from the field.

In the third, Henderson narrowed the lead to 47-38 before a 13-0 scoring run pulled the Ouachita lead to 60-38. The Reddies did not surrender however and responded to narrow the lead to 60-43. Cardenas led the Reddies with five points as the Reddies trailed 70-45 going into the fourth.

Brynlee Huggins sank a three to open the scoring for the Reddies in the fourth. Henderson State continued to fight, pulling the score to 77-51, but Ouachita carried all the momentum, and the Reddies couldn't keep up, ultimately falling to the Tigers 89-56.
