Women's Basketball Game Notes
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Reddies will host #14 ranked Harding to the Duke Wells Center for Senior Day on February 28th. Tip off is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. The Reddie Seniors will be honored after the Women's game and before the Men's game.
Reddie Report
Henderson State return home for their last game of the season after facing Arkansas Tech on the road, ultimately winning 94-88.
The Reddie offense's shooting was hot against Arkansas Tech, as several Reddies reached career highs in points.
Grayson Fairless led the way with 37 points on the night, while
Riley Samples shot 63.6 percent from the floor with 21 points.
The Reddies rebounded well, earning 38 rebounds, with Fairless leading with a career-high tying 18 rebounds. A majority came from defensive boards, with 30 defensive rebounds on the night.Â
Henderson State struggled to stop the Golden Sun offense, as Tech shot 42.1 percent from the field, scoring 88 points in the process, the third-highest mark against the Reddies this season.
Turnovers were an issue for the Reddies, as they were only able to force eight turnovers, getting three steals out of it.
Scouting Harding
The #14 ranked Bisons wrapped up their home portion of the season against Arkansas-Monticello winning in dominant fashion 82-48.
Harding's offense was dominant against the Cotton Blossoms, shooting 56.6 percent from the field, and 50.0 percent from three. The Bisons had five players with double-digit points, with Allie Rehl leading with 14 points.Â
The Bisons managed to collect 35 rebounds, with most coming from defensive rebounds. Kennedy Stout leads Harding in rebounds (157) and rebounds per game (5.8).Â
The Harding defense is robust, limiting opponents to an average of 57 points per game over the past five. Harding has forced 378 turnovers on the season, while averaging 14.0 points per game off of said turnovers.
The Reddies bested the Bisons the last time they faced them, winning on the road in a thrilling 69-66 victory. When playing in the Duke Wells Center, since 2011-2012, HSU is 8-7 against Harding, and is 33-40 all time.
