BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Reddie Tennis made history today, as they made their very first GAC Championship in school history and the first championship match since 2007, but couldn't bring home the win, finishing as the GAC runner-up to Arkansas Tech, 4-3.
Doubles
Angela Dorado Marin and
Kristina Kozlova opened the day with a 6-3 win over the No. 3 pairing, before
Jenna Kate Bohnert and
Adiya Abdugappar secured the doubles point for the Reddies with a 6-2 win over the No. 2 pairing.
Singles
In the singles matches, Henderson State fell behind 2-1 early, before
Jordan Parker tied it up after defeating Rebecca Arnold 6-1, 7-6 in the No. 5 position.
Emilia Nowak then gave Henderson State a 3-2 lead after defeating No. 2 Lucia Perez Hruba 6-3, 7-5. Unfortunately, the Reddies couldn't get across the final threshold, and Arkansas Tech defeated the Reddies 4-3.
