Biography

2012-13: Led Henderson State in free-throw shooting making 40-of-44 for 91 percent . . . Scored in double-figures 15 times including a season-best 30 points against Northwestern Oklahoma where he was 8-for-14 from beyond the 3-point arc . . . Totaled 26 points against Southeastern Oklahoma . . . Scored 23 points against Delta State where he connected on 5-of-9 three-point field goals . . . Collected a game-hime 20 points including hitting four 3-point field goald in Henderson’s win at Harding (2/14/13) . . . Also scored 20 points against Central Baptist.

COLLEGE: Transfers in from Snow College (Ephraim, Utah) where he spent two seasons . . . In his freshmen campaign at Snow, Haynes played in 31 games and averaged 7.8 points per game . . . That same year he was a 38% shooter from beyond the arc as he connected on 43-of-114 on the season . . . As a sophomore, Haynes upped his scoring average to 11.3 points per game in 17 games played . . . Haynes also remained a sharpshooter from deep by connecting on 34-of-91 three-point attempts for a percentage of 37%.

PREP: Attended Garfield High (Akron, Ohio) where he lettered three years in basketball . . . During his time as a Dragon, Haynes was twice tabbed as a First-Team All-City performer and was also named to the All-State Honorable Mention team as a senior.

PERSONAL: Born April 29, 1990 . . . Son of Melvin Haynes Jr. and Cynthia Majors . . . Has two brothers, Cordell and Davion, and one sister, Deja . . . Enjoys spending time with his family and playing video games when not playing basketball . . . Lists the Miami Heat as his favorite professional basketball team, and also lists the Heat’s LeBron James as his favorite professional basketball player . . . Notes the time when he scored 66 points in a game as his most memorable moment in sports . . . Majoring in Physical Education.
