Drew Maus returned to Henderson State in the fall of 2015 after spending two years as an assistant coach at Little Rock University. He begins his sixth season as the Reddies assistant coach in 2019-20.
In 2014 at UALR, Maus coached first base and helped with the hitters as the team set the school record for stolen base percentage swiping 87 bases in 110 tries for a .791 percentage. The team finished fifth in the Sun Belt in home runs with 36, which was good for 31st nationally.
Maus served as Henderson’s assistant coach/recruiting coordinator from 2010-13. In 2013, Maus helped guide the Reddies to their second-consecutive Great American Conference baseball tournament for the first time in school history. With HSU, Maus supervised the instruction and development of all hitters and infielders/catchers, implemented new strength and conditioning programs and coordinated the various HSU baseball camps and showcases.
Prior to Henderson State, Maus was the founder and administrator of Team Cincinnati Baseball in Hamilton, Ohio from 2009-2011. He oversaw the baseball operations for the program, assisting players in the recruitment process for the collegiate level. Maus began his coaching career in 2009 as an assistant coach for Talawanda High School in Oxford, Ohio, supervising the instruction and development of all hitters and infielders/catchers.
During his collegiate career, Maus played shortstop for Ouachita Baptist from 2008-09. Playing and starting in every game for the NCAA Division II runner-up in 2008, Maus was a part of a potent offensive attack for the Tigers, finishing the season as one of seven OBU players with at least a .300 batting average. With the Tigers from 2008-09, Maus started 121 of 122 games played, batting .307 (130-423) with 105 RBI’s, 98 runs, 30 doubles, 14 home runs and three triples.
A native of Hamilton, Ohio, Maus graduated from Henderson State in 2013 with a bachelor’s in General Studies with emphases in History, Business and Kinesiology.Â
