Biography

2023: Put the finishing touches on one of the most prolific careers in program history . . . Named a College Sports Communicators Second Team Academic All-American for the second year in a row . . . D2CCA All-Region Second Team and NCBWA All-Region Honorable Mention . . . All-GAC First Team selection . . . Established himself as the program leader in career at-bats (794), hits (266), runs (173), doubles (60) and home runs (35) after already being the all-time leader in RBI (175) . . . Led the team with 77 hits - his second straight season to eclipse the 70-hit mark - and 22 doubles, which is the third most doubles in a single season in program history and the tied-for-fourth most in conference history . . . Recorded the seventh-most runs for a single season in program history (53) . . . Slugged .578 for second on the team . . . Stole a team-high six bases on the season . . . In his second-to-last regular season game against Ouachita Baptist (Apr. 30) for his career, became the first HSU player since Caleb Carr in 2019 to record five hits in a single contest, finishing his performance going 5-for-6 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored.

Henderson's State's 2021-22 Duke Wells Inspirational Award winner, the highest honor given to any male student-athlete by the Athletics Department ... 2022 GAC Elite Scholar-Athlete with a perfect 4.0 GPA ... Henderson State's all-time leader in career RBIs (136) and total bases (306) ... Second all-time in program history in hits (189) and home runs (25) ... One of two players on the team to start all 57 games ... Batted .351 with a team-high 78 hits and 53 RBIs, as well as 10 home runs ... His 78 hits and 53 RBIs each ranked second all-time in a single season in school history ... Ended the year riding a school-record 46-game reached base streak which will continue into 2023 ... Had 26 multi-hit games and a 14-game hitting streak, tied for the fourth-longest streak in school history ... Compiled 19 games with multiple RBIs ... Carried a .985 fielding percentage at first base ... Recorded six RBIs in the final two games of the NCAA Central Regional (May 21) ... A career .335 hitter with 149 games played, 142 starts, 189 hits, 136 RBIs and 25 home runs in four seasons.

2021: A GAC All-Tournament honoree … Henderson State’s 2021 GAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year nominee … 2021 GAC Elite Scholar-Athlete — one of just two players in the GAC with a perfect 4.0 GPA … Started all 46 games for HSU at first base … Hit .332 with 63 hits, eight doubles, eight home runs, 42 RBIs and 97 total bases … Had a fielding percentage of .991 … His 63 hits led all Central Region first basemen … Had 23 multi-hit games and recorded at least one hit in 35 different contests … Put together a reached-base streak of 18 games at one point — the longest on-base streak of any player in 2021 … Had six RBIs, two home runs and a grand slam against Arkansas Tech (2/13) … Went 4-for-4 in a win over Southern Arkansas (4/3) … Was 4-for-6 with three runs and a home run in a victory on the road at Southeastern Oklahoma (4/25) … Drove in four runs and had two doubles against Ouachita Baptist (4/30) … Currently on pace to break the Reddies’ career hits and home run records … Has 111 hits, 83 RBIs, a .325 average and 15 home runs in 93 career games played at HSU.

2020: Started every game the Reddies competed in this year . . . Tied for a team-high six home runs (Alec Lewis) . . . Slugging percentage of .616 . . . Led the team with 27 hits, as well as with 53 total bases . . . Team-high 131 put-outs . . . Boasted a .993 fielding percentage.

2019: Made 18 starts and played in 25 games for the Reddies. . . Finished second on the team with a .318 average (21-66), a .382 on-base percentage, and a .439 slugging percentage which ranked third on the Reddies. . . Provided HSU with clutch hitting throughout the season, including the game-tying double in the Reddies’ 6-4 win over Ouachita Baptist in the final game of the season (Apr. 27).

PREP: Four-year letterman at Pottsville High School. . .Four-time All-Conference selection. . . Took home All-State honors following his sophomore, junior and senior year. . .Won the Centennial Bank Brightest Start award after his senior season. . . Awarded the Apache Award, given to the Pottsville student athlete that exemplified hard work and pride for the school. . . Also a two-time All-Conference choice on the football field.
