Khalill Spencer begins his second season as an assistant coach for men’s basketball at Henderson State in 2021-22.

Spencer joined the Reddies staff in 2020-21 following a collegiate playing career that included stops at Tennessee State, Southwest Community College and, most recently, Jackson State. Spencer was a team captain for both of his two seasons at JSU, played in 56 games, was named the team’s Sixth Man of the Year and won an ESPY Award for “Can’t Stop Watching Moment of the Year” as a member of the program in 2019-20.

Spencer’s first collegiate stop came at Tennessee State, where he signed after a stand-out career at Ridgeway High School, in Memphis, Tennessee. At Ridgeway, Spencer averaged 20 points per game his senior season and led the Roadrunners to an 18-11 record.

The son of Kenneth and Khaliah Spencer and a 2020 graduate of Jackson State, Spencer holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
